Polygenetics, Inc.

Polygenetics, Inc. is a pharmaceutical company with emphasis on specialty generics. The company develops and offers combination products comprised of active pharmaceutical ingredients loaded into highly porous polymers. This patented  technology causes the API to exhibit a highly precise zero-order release profile.

The company  was co-founded by Dr. Nai-Hong Li and Dr. James Benson. Dr. Li is Director of Research of Polygenetics and is internationally known for his contributions involving porous polymer materials. Dr. Benson is Chairman, CEO and President of Polygenetics. In addition to starting some high technology companies, Dr. Benson also occasionally works as expert witness in  biomedical and drug delivery cases, usually involving patent infringement or trade secret matters.

Advanced Drug Delivery

Polygenetics, Inc. is a pharmaceutical company specializing in value-added generic drugs. The company owns patent rights on porous polymer materials and their applications that provide very precise zero-order release of contained APIs. The combination product (drug contained within the porous polymer) causes drugs to rise to therapeutic levels with no overshoot, and causes these levels to remain constant for up to twenty-four hours, ideal for oral administration. The  technology is particularly suited for treatment of pain, inflammation, behavioral disorders, and cardiovascular problems. Polygenetics' technology can distinguish generic products and provide much higher income than realized by competing generics. Due to recent patent submissions we can provide patent protection for up to twenty years. This technology may also benefit life cycle of proprietary medicines.

Polygenetics is involved in development programs with major pharmaceutical companies and is applying its technology to drugs used in pain management, cardiovascular issues and other applications. Boston Scientific Corporation is now selling FDA approved products that were developed under our license to them.

Polygenetics can now apply this technology to injectable drugs carried by bioerodible polymers for long term release. The company has also applied its technology to enhance absorption of low solubility drugs.

cGMP capability will be completed in 2008 at the company's facility in Mountain View, California. This will allow the company to prepare materials for early clinical studies and reduce time to market by one year.

POLYGENETICS FACILITY

Polygenetics is located in a 12,000 sq. ft. research facility in Mountain View, California, in the heart of Silicon Valley.

The Mountain View research facility provides a high technology atmosphere for carrying out research and development projects. cGMP capability is expected during 2008.
